unity shall never perish.. thanks to a certain datuk..

SPORTS UNITES.. isn't that the theme of MILO or something like that? well if i ever had doubts about that statement, it was vanquished by the end of the badminton olympics semi-final match between lee chong wei ( now a datuk ) and lee hyun-il of south korea.

i thought i would miss the match since i was in tuition. but i managed to catch the last set. sitting in a packed mamak shop with my dad, the feeling was exhilarating. every point that chong wei won, the crowd would cheer as if their lives depended on him and him alone. i could not suppress my feelings either, so i cheered joyously along with everyone else. half-way through the 3rd set, i took a look around the shop and what i saw made me feel proud to be a malaysian. i could see malays, chinese, indians all smiling and talking. there was not a grim face in sight. but it was not the happiness on their faces that made me happy. it was the fact that here at last there was proof that malaysians can live in peace and harmony together. sports really does unite.

when chong wei scored the winning point, everyone stood up and cheered and clapped. it was wonderful, felt like he had already won the olympic gold medal ( sadly, he did not ). it was such a lively and exciting scene that i almost expected to hear the shop-workers say 'free drinks on the house'. but that fantasy was not to take place as the workers were not malaysians. ah well, at least they felt the malaysian spirit....

for once, i am gonna say something in a totally non-sarcastic manner... MALAYSIA BOLEH!!!

revamp our education system

that day in sejarah class, we were going through the sub topic on our education system.
did u know that the last time our education system was updated was way back in 1978? it's so old that we have to study it in our history syllabus.
this is probably the reason why malaysians can't give a good fight to graduates of other countries like britain, russia and so on.

the government seriously needs to change our syllabus. students from my school don't learn much. and if we do, it's only in our exam year as we TRY to cram everything in. i'm sure if you looked at the more developed, more advanced countries, you would find that their education syllabus was recently updated. if their's is as old as ours, then i suppose the ministry just have to ask themselves where is their fault.

see? i can't be blamed for not learning much can i? :D

anyway, i saw something funny today and want to share it.. it might not be so funny in writing, but here it is anyway.

i was walking back from school. in the heavy rain, poor me :( anyway i saw this car stop at a house. a middle-aged guy got out.. he took out a huge umbrella and opened it. his daughter then stepped out of the car. he moved towards her to shield her from the rain with his umbrella. suddenly, a strong gust of wind blew his umbrella up. his umbrella was then turned inside out. so instead of protecting his daughter, he also wet himself. i could not control my laughter, thank God they were laughin too.. wish i got a video of it.....

97 days till SPM.. oh shieeett..
